A perfect summer getaway is in the beautiful Okanagan! Kelowna has miles of beautiful parkland, and several sandy beaches. Some of the best activities to enjoy include boating, swimming, water-skiing, windsurfing and fishing. As well, you can golf at one of the many golf courses nine months out of the year. The surrounding area is also home to many stunning wineries and orchards. Make sure to stock up on freshly picked BC fruit!

Today, head to the picturesque surroundings of Sun Peaks Resort, a premier year-round destination nestled in the Thompson-Okanagan region of British Columbia. Known for its extensive ski terrain, Sun Peaks has evolved into a world-class resort offering an array of recreational activities for every season.

Day 9: Day 9 - Sun Peaks

Miles above the meeting place of the North and South Thompson rivers lays the mountain community of Sun Peaks. The air is comfortably cooler and carries a note of adventure. Local vendors’ wares bask in the sunshine in the outdoor farmers’ market, glasses clink filled with chilled white wine and opportunities for new outdoor experiences are around every bend. Home to the second largest ski area in Canada, the summer brings a remarkable transformation. As you approach Whistler, the landscape transforms into a alpine wonderland, with snow-capped peaks and verdant forests stretching as far as the eye can see.

Today you make the journey from Whistler to Vancouver, which is filled with adventure. The first stop takes you to the Sea to Sky Gondola, where a ten-minute ride transports you to 885 meters above sea level. From here, soak in views of Howe Sound, dense coastal forests, and majestic mountains. At the summit, outdoor experiences awaits, from interpretive walking trails to the Sky Pilot Suspension Bridge. Next, delve into the rich history of British Columbia at the Britannia Mine Museum, once a bustling mining site and now a renowned museum.
